It may seem simple, but if you don’t give a like, you’re not showing love!
Are you one of those people who browse through life without paying much attention to the content? How many requests do you have from your friends to “like” their business page or public profile? How many of your entrepreneur friends or artists friends ask you to share their content?
Let me share with you the love cycle you can start with a like.
Every time you “like” the content of someone whose life’s purpose is to make their business grow, an angel gets his wings. Well, not really, but something very similar happens. Each “like” that a post gets, it becomes more visible. Think of it as that power boost in your favorite Super Mario game. Or that bonus on Candy Crush. Or a can of spinach in Popeye’s hands. Each like tells algorithms that what that person is posting, may be interesting for other people. If you go ahead and actually comment that’s like a double boost. And if you share it, well… that is the dream! You set the wheels in motion. That drop of content may actually become a waterfall.
Let’s talk in business terms
What all this means, is that your friend’s content will gain exposure. Ever heard of it? It means that it will become visible to more people. All that fuzz about business posts not being “visible” enough without paid promotion is actually true. And it is ok, because most of us do not want to be plagued by ads. However, active communities of users, who care about the content provided, can make content go viral. So your contribution to making that content visible is making your friend’s business thrive so that they can buy the next round of drinks, or plan that weekend getaway, or afford their kid’s braces.
So… in words that may sound familiar…
“Use the force”
Next time you find yourself scrolling down your timeline, in any of the social media platforms…
Give a click!
Whether you choose to like, share, or comment on the content. Remember, this is the most efficient way to make it grow and possibly go viral. You may not be that interested in your friend’s product or service. But never undermine the value that it may have to someone in your followers list. One of your contacts may just be looking for what your friend is offering. Someone may like what they see and start following. And who knows… Maybe they’ll buy! And like it, and promote it themselves!
